Jolene McMaster

Jolene served as Vice President for five and one-half years, before assuming the role of President upon Cynthia Neely’s resignation in June 2008. She represented the chapter at the WIFT International Summit in October 2005. She and partner Rob McKinnonis are co-founders of a feature film production company, a corporate member of WIFT Houston. As producer, she completed her first feature film for an Austin production company, the SAG low budget horror movie MR. HELL, shot on 35mm in 2004, premiering at MFAH in 2005, with DVD release in the US and Canada in April of 2006, and later released in Germany and Spain.
Jolene was also a member of Mayor Bill White’s task force on film. The
group of 15, led by Franci Crane, met regularly for two years to
organize Houston Cinema Arts Society with the purpose of enriching Houston’s film culture.
HCAS presents Cinema Arts Festival Houston each November. The 2010
festival featured Shirley MacLaine, Isabella Rossillini, John
Turturro, and Alex Gibney, to name a few. Jolene served as Treasurer of
Houston Cinema Arts Society from 2009 through 2010, and currently serves as Asst. Treasurer..
Jolene and Rob are recipients of multiple Telly awards for their earlier work in

video production. She served on the Board of Texas Accountants and
Lawyers for the Arts from 2002 through 2006, and as Alternate to the Board of Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA) from 2006 to 2008. She was editor of the TXMPA e-newsletter in 2007 and 2008. Jolene is a Native Houstonian, and fifth generation Texan, She became a member of the Texas Star Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas in 2011. Maureen Herzog

Torn between academic training in the methods of left-brain logic and a deep-seated love for the creative and performing arts, Maureen gas been fortunate in striking a balance as Editor in Chief and Co-Publisher of Indie Slate magazine, a well-known niche publication covering independent film and TV production/distribution found on newsstands across North America and in the offices of key industry execs. In her role at Indie Slate, she continually draws upon her education, a BS in Psychology, an MBA, with Practitioner Certification in NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming), along with experience in the performance world as a dancer, writer, actor, and professional vocalist.
In 1997, after a
successful career in human resource management and development with
Fortune 100 organizations, she left the corporate world to work
full-time with producer-publisher-entrepreneur Dave Walker on
transforming his 10-page production industry newsletter into Indie Slate
Magazine. Together they also created Indie-U: Continuing Education in
Moviemaking, a program through which they produce or sponsor a variety
of events and top-quality weekend classes, including Hollywood Film
Institute’s 2-Day Film School, the 35mm Hands-On Shoot, and the Indie
Way Workshop conducted by successful L.A.-based producer/writer/director
Darin Scott.
In 2000, Maureen co-wrote and produced the 35mm short, The Martini Shot, and in 2004 produced the 35mm short, God Thinks You’re a Loser. She also served as

Secretary and Vice-President for the Houston Chapter of Women in Film & Television. Through production company Fresh Squeezed Entertainment, Dave and Maureen continue development of a full slate of other projects. "With an enduring curiosity about human behavior and how we manage to communicate and miscommunicate — especially in light of today’s diverse media choices — I feel blessed to have the opportunity to create messages and learning experiences that encourage others to make their dreams come true."

Carole Keeney Harrington

Carole launched Ivy London Productions in 2011 after spending the last 15 years in education and non-profit leadership positions. She currently devotes full-time to writing and producing and has two feature films in development with scripts completed and financing underway. Over the years, Carole has written and produced feature films and documentaries for private individuals, community organizations, and for Houston Community College, where her last position was as Associate Vice Chancellor of Communications. Her earlier career was in journalism as a feature writer for the Houston Chronicle where she was the first woman to ever serve on the Editorial Page. During her tenure there, she wrote more than 600 feature articles and was recognized by the Houston Press Club and the Houston Medical Society for her work.
In 2000, Carole and her husband, Rick, who owned Rick Harrington Films
for more than 35 years, started the HCC Film Program as a continuing
education class with 12 students. The program, where Rick continues to
teach and recruit, now has more than 400 students and offers an
associate degree in film, the only community college in Texas to offer a film degree.
In addition to her work in media, Carole was an early innovator of programs to benefit children with autism. In 1976, she was a co-founder of Avondale House for Autistic Children which currently educates and assists 162 children in its school and habilitation programs. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's in educational psychology, both from the University of Houston.

Trish Rigdon

Recently hired as Executive Director of Houston Cinema Arts Society (HCAS), Trish has been a freelance Director, Designer, and Producer in theatre and recently in film since 2007. She has over 10 years of significant experience in the commercial and non-profit professional theatre both internationally and nationally including producing, administration, directing, designing and supervision of technical production and has worked in various capacities for Broadway, West End, London, National US tours, UK tours, Off-Broadway, and regional theaters. She served from 2003 to 2006 as the Associate Producer/Director for the Peter Hall Company Season with Theatre Royal Bath, under the acclaimed director Sir Peter Hall with responsibility for developing and managing a $350,000 budget each season for the physical production of a repertory of three to four plays requiring Broadway level production values. Her work with Sir Peter included two West End transfers, several UK tours, and three U.S. tours.

In 2007 Ms. Rigdon joined Houston filmmaker, Jim
Huston, of Cinemental Films, in the production of the short film
Occam’s Razor as Art Director. She was also involved with Cinemental
Films’ work in progress Suitable for Framing as Co-Producer.
She joined Rice University as Associate Director of Theatre in July 2000 and subsequently became the Director of Theatre with responsibility for curriculum development, programming, fund-raising, marketing and publicity of productions, facilities management, budgeting, hiring of faculty and staff, supervision of production and technical and administrative staff, in addition to supervision of all capital improvement projects, developing facilities rental contracts, policies and procedures, and negotiation of contracts with guest artists.
Before embarking on a career in the arts, Trish worked in the Real Estate industry as an Agent from 1979 to 1985 and served as Sales Manager for several of those years. From 1985 to 1988, she was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Knight-O’Connor and Associates, Inc. a Houston based telecommunications consulting firm. Trish received her BA in Fine Arts from University of Saint Thomas and an MFA in Theatre from University of Houston.

Cash Anthony

Cash Anthony is the author of one documentary/narrative and four short scripts, three of which she also directed and edited. On of her shorts won second place in WIFT's recent screenwriting competition, and two of her four feature-length scripts have won international screenwriting awards. Cash has been a member of Women In Film & Television Houston for over a decade, and has served as President, Treasurer, and Program Director for a local writing group, The Final Twist Writers Society. She is a published author of a series of murder mystery stories and co-author of a reference book, Motorcycle Safety and Dynamics. She was also principal editor of The Guide To Texas State Agencies, 5th ed., published by the University of Texas Press. Cash is a graduate of the University (Plan II Honors) and UT School of Law. She served as a prosecutor for Harris County and was a consumer advocate before turning to her creative pursuits. She is an AV-rated attorney, and an avid motorcyclist. Cash and her husband Tim Hogan have lived in southwest Houston since 1982. She was elected to the WIFT Board in 2011.

Anna Peterek

Anna has worked in the banking and real estate industry for 15 plus years, primarily in commercial lending. She studied at HCC in the film department before transferring to Sam Houston State to pursue a Criminal Justice degree with a minor in Sociology. It was at HCC where she met those who would inspire her to focus on what she loves best: MOVIES! She loves all aspects of the film industry, from production to writing to watching, and volunteering, doing what needs to be done.
In any spare time that she can muster, you'll find her working on local projects, such as Midsummer: The Movie, CSI: Miami Parody, Morgue & Stein, and Katy Nation, among others. Additionally, she is working on several of her own projects. She also writes poetry and aspires to be a novelist.
She has two sons, Kyle and Kevin. Kyle attends Sam Houston, and Kevin will be attending University of Oklahoma in the fall. Anna was a Student Member of WIFT while pursuing her college degree.

Elma Barrera

Elma was the recent recipient of Women
In Film & Television's first Jade Award for Excellence. She has
been called an icon, not only in Houston's Hispanic community, but in
the Houston community at large. Throughout her career, Elma has been on
the cutting edge as a pioneering journalist. She is currently
producing the feature El National, In Search of the American Dream, which is in post production.
Elma was Houston's first female Hispanic television
reporter. She covered local, national and international stories for
KTRK-TV, Channel 13 Eyewitness News for over 30 years. She also
moderated Viva Houston and other community affairs programs.
While employed at KTRK-TV she also worked part-time at Channel 8,
producing and anchoring one of Houston's earliest television news
programs in Spanish. She |

was known as an informed reporter, insightful, articulate and...bilingual. Those early years in Houston demanded a set of skills unseen until then and Elma contributed with a new and very personal perspective on news involving the growing Latino population. Through her many incisive reports, she has helped shape public discourse
on issues of vital concern to the entire community. She helped lay the
groundwork for Houston's early Spanish television broadcasting at
Channel 45.
Ms. Barrera was chosen by the White House as one of four local organizers of the First International Women's Conference, which hosted several First or former First Ladies in Houston. She also helped organize the first National Hispanic Women's Conference. In 2000, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists named her as one of the inaugural inductees to its newly-created "Hall of Fame." As an active participant in the Houston community, Elma Barrera has served on a number of state and local boards, and was a founder of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A Native Texan, Elma graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in English and Spanish literature. Upon graduating she spent three years in Mexico City where she worked for the American Embassy. |

Yankie Grant is a comedy/drama actress and charter member of WIFT/Houston. Her acting career began in a Dallas High School Drama class, where she won the role of Goldie Hawn in her class spoof of the television series "Laugh In." She fell in love with the laughter and applause and the rest, as they say, is history. Yankie has performed in Houston theatres off-off-Alley, such as the Skyline Theatre, Actors Workshop and the Country Playhouse Black Box. She is co-owner of a Murder Mystery Party Company. Recently, she has been working in various capacities with Walker Cable Productions as a Pre & Post Production Coordinator and Script Supervisor in addition to casting for the company.

Anita Long

Anita has made a career of having careers. So far, she's been a costume designer (Sak's 5th) Avenue), clothing importer/exporter, photojournalist (world cup soccer), owner of a half dozen retail operations, filmmaker, national director for a non-profit digital media company, singer in a rock band, and currently runs the Ink Spots Museum in the historic Heights. She's been awarded medals by the Smithsonian Institution, is published in the Library of Congress, was chosen most influential woman in San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley), and has received official recognition from the City of San Jose, the State of California, the U.S. Justice Department, the U.S. Defense Department, and the United States Congress.
Examples of her work are in more than 30 museums and libraries around the country. Her former clients include Adobe, Intel, Hewlett Packard, IBM, and many other large national and international corporations.
Anita is a storyteller, documentary filmmaker, and public health consultant who was born in New York, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. During her ten-year involvement in coordinating community-based public health and history community development projects in California and nationally, she led and co-founded an array of programs in the 30 senior computer centers located in Santa Clara County, and created a supportive environment for seniors, teens, and those in between to share stories that all too often remain
|
unspoken.
She co-produced and edited a series of educational documentaries from
stories of W.W. II, diabetes awareness, and breat cancer awareness to
healthy life styles and the 21st Century quest for longevity. One of
her recent programs focusing on personal stories of individuals who
played a part in the Civil Rights Movement was broadcast to more than 3
million homes on BET, in 2005. Anita was responsible for overseeing the
Stories of Service Program, A National Iniative to Encourage Youth Across America
to document the lives of unsung heroes in their communities. In 2005,
Anita launched projects for Santa Clara County and the City of San Jose -
a Community Health Advocates Program - to promote healthy life choices
and address children obesity prevention. Anna says, "Remember, people
of all ages and backgrounds have a story to tell." Ask her about it.
Amy Mitchell/Legal Affairs

Amy graduated from Case Western Law School with a Juris Doctor degree and moved to Texas in 1985 bound and determined to make a difference in people’s lives. She passed both the Texas and Washington DC bars and has been practicing civil law for the last 24 years. She married, had a son, and moved to Sugar Land, Texas and developed her litigation practice and skills. In November of 2009, she opened her own law firm, Mitchell & Duff, LLC, the premier woman-owned law firm in Fort Bend County.
Approximately 10 years ago, Amy decided it was time to give back to the community and started volunteering in a number of different community service organizations. In this connection, she joined the Exchange Club of Sugar Land and Sugar Land Rotary, as well as the State Bar Grievance Committee. She has served on the board of the Exchange Club and currently is President Elect. She chaired the 5A Grievance Committee for the State Bar for two years and has served on the Gulf Coast District Exchange Board as the Child Abuse Prevention Chair and the ESCAPE Board. She chaired a number of charitable events, including Santa’s Exchange (we give over 3000 underprivileged children toys for Christmas), Wine and Music for Literacy and worked diligently on numerous other charitable events for SEARCH, The Fort Bend Womens Center, Literacy Council of Fort Bend, the Exchange Club and Rotary and the ESCAPE Center.

In 2007, her 16 year old son decided he wanted to have an acting/modeling career. In this connection, he was signed by APlus Actors and sent to Deke Anderson for acting lessons. Being a dutiful and supportive mother, she went to classes with him for the next 18 months never intending to be an actress herself. She now maintains both her active legal practice and thriving acting career. She has been in numerous films (both full length and shorts), commercials, web series and even an educational video for the Veterans Administration. She has worked with WIFT Board Members Melody Moss, Yankie Grant, and Marc Isaacs on a number of projects. She adds, “I have discovered a love and talent for acting and have truly enjoyed the caliber and quality of both actors and productions in the Houston area. I want to be a part of helping the industry grow even further. With my management and board experience and my love of the industry, being on the board of WIFT seems a natural progression. I am a proud supporter of WIFT and its goals and would be honored to have you elect me as a board member.”
Melody “Rusty” Moss

Melody Moss is an actor, choreographer, and producer. She is known for her versatile portrayal of characters, for her creative vision in dance, and for her production integrity.
Melody has had the opportunity to play hundreds of diversified roles, for stage, television, and film. Her formal training in drama and dance led her to regional comedy theatre productions and national touring companies on Broadway and Off-Broadway. Her tenure in the theatre included a three-year run with Whatever Happened to Black Love? and Before Time Runs Out, with Thomas Meloncon. Acting credits include the feature film 7 Kilos and the television pilot Suspect to Superstar.
Coming up in the business, Melody has worked behind the scenes as a location scout, casting director, script supervisor, production coordinator, and as a producer. She has worked as the production accountant for MGM, the assistant to the director for New Line Cinema, and as an associate producer for United Paramount Network. One of Melody's projects, an independent feature film called Cook County won the 2008 Hollywood Film Festival's "Best Feature Film."

In 2006, Melody along with Yankie Grant formed RUSTY YANKIE PRODUCTIONS. This year, the production company is currently working on several projects, which includes post-production of a feature film, pre-production of a TV pilot and post-production for a web series coming soon. The team co-wrote, acted, and produced DIVORCE TEXAS STYLE, a short that won the 2010 Worldfest Remi Award.
Melody is the Founding President of Women In Film & Television/Houston, an international organization, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors.

Page Parkes-Eveleth is co-owner of the largest modeling and acting agency group in the Southwestern United States. Page is known worldwide for her “eye” in scouting and developing talent for the fashion and commercial industry’s most renowned agencies. Her efforts over the past 28 years have earned her an outstanding reputation, successful agencies, the National Businesswoman of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners, National Leadership Award, Honorary Co-Chair of National Republican Congressional Committee Business Advisory Council, the 2004 Fashion Forum Award, honoree at the Child Advocates Angels of Hope event in 2005 and her company was recently, named a Winner of Distinction for 2006, 2007 and 2008 by the Better Business Bureau.
Page sits on the board of the Better Business Bureau,Women in Film and
is also very active within the community - taking special pride in her
long time involvement with Child Advocates as an advocate and also as a
Board member.

has produced success stories including Brooke Burns, Alexis Bledel,

Gap, Kenneth Cole, Old Navy. and Abercrombie. Since its inception in 1981, the Page Parkes Corporation has grown to include Page Parkes Management in Dallas , and Page 305 in Miami, which was sold in 2003 to FORD/ NY.
In addition, Page and her husband Bob are now the proud parents to 3 siblings and they raise her nephew who is now 10 yrs old. Patricia Torres-Burd

Currently serves HoustonPBS as Executive Director of Content. Prior to this appointment she had the privilege of serving as General Manager of Locke Bryan Productions, a company whose leadership has always supported WIFT and many, many local industry organizations. She is proud to be part of their incredible team and to work alongside Camille and Locke Bryan.
Her career began in television, right here, in Houston at KHOU-CH11. In 1987, she joined Telemundo to work on the development and launch of KTMD as well as the first Spanish language Newscast in Houston. She later led a team at CH 8 – Houston PBS, working in all areas of live broadcast, town meetings and local news and public affairs programs.
In 1995, she was asked to join CME to work
on the launch project of POP-TV in Slovenia and work on similar projects
in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, and Ukraine. This
incredible opportunity led her to other projects in Serbia, Bosnia, and
other Eastern European regions. Patricia returned to Houston 2005, to
launch LatinAmerica Broadcasting Inc. (LAT TV™), which launched May of
2006, to serve Spanish-speaking audiences in Houston, Dallas, Austin,
San Antonio, and Phoenix.
