Presently serving her sixth term as president of the Houston chapter of Women In Film And Television, Cynthia began her career as a producer/writer/creative services and promotion director in radio and then for NBC, ABC, and independent TV stations in Charlotte, North Carolina and Houston. She produced over 900 live shows for KTRK-TV’s Good Morning Houston. Film has since become her passion. She is an award-winning screenwriter, has contributed to national and regional film industry magazines, and co-founded Houston’s Young Moviemakers, a showcase partnered with the Museum of Fine Arts’ film department and in its seventh year. She co-directs Houston’s Silver Screams Film Festival (www.silverscreams.org), a celebration of classic horror films also featuring a short film competition. Cynthia was production coordinator and local casting director for the 2006 35 mm feature MR. HELL, available at video rental and retail stores nationwide, and will be Associate Producer for the 35 mm thriller CREEK COUNTY, to be shot in Texas early in 2007 by Pure Horror Films. Currently, she is writing the script for the first in a series of short, traditionally animated vignettes for Light Bug Productions, LLC, slated for Christmas release. She chairs the Filmmaking Advisory Committee for the Houston Community College System, and is a founding member of Only In Houston (www.onlyinhouston.org), an effort that’s uniting Houston’s creative industry.
